Hi Jack, first things first, please can you introduce yourself?

Hi, I’m Jack and I run the Instagram @jackdmarch (catchy name right haha). I am an interiors/ lifestyle account that showcases my love for interiors, my renovation project (our Victorian Townhouse) and a little bit of our travel and dog. Oh let’s not forget the updates of my beloved Granny.

Please tell us more about your stunning home and how @jackdmarch came about?

I graduated in 2012 with a 1st class honours in contemporary design and for a while pursued the life of an artist, where I specialised in ceramics and showcased my whimsical tableware pieces.

However, when I turned 24 I purchased my first home and began to showcase my budget makeovers on my Instagram, this both flexed my interior design passion and scratched that creative itch ceramics no longer could. Then I guess the rest is history.

Please could you describe your interior style, has it always been the same or has it evolved over time?

I would say my style is 'curated maximalist'. I love collections and individual beautiful pieces, but I have to group/curate them into little vignettes.

My friend once said 'you are the only person I know that visual merchandises their home'. I think a style evolves with a home!

I don’t agree with shopping for a whole look, yes I love a room and home to be cohesive but it has to evolve naturally. That is when it works best, as it’s authentic.

I think a style evolves with a home!

What brands or trends inspire you or your house purchases?

I love vintage and antiques, quirky one-off pieces.

Homesense is great for a rummage to find little one-off gems, but I am also a lover of Anthropologie for those quirky vintage-looking items.

What interior Instagram accounts inspire you, could you name your top 3?

1. @hillhousevintage - Both Paula and her home are everything I aspire to be the vintage charm, tongue in cheek poses, classic cars… all make this account effortlessly beautiful.

2. @_lisa_dawson_ - I grew up around the corner from Lisa and since Instagram, I have got to know her quite well. She is one of the Instagram interiors originals and her home is just as beautiful in the flesh as it is on her grid.

3. @the_idle_hands - Sandra and I share the same passion for prints whether it’s fabric or wallpaper, it’s one of those Instagram homes I could move into and not have to change a thing. We even bumped into each other in Homesense once and there was nearly a fight for the most amazing candlesticks.

We love your bathroom so much.Do you have any tips for our followers on how to achieve a stylish home?

I think it’s a matter of DON'T follow the crowd or a trend, so many of us (myself included) have got sucked into a trend that we probably didn’t really like or regret.

I always say your home is YOUR HOME, nobody else’s and it should be an extension of you and your personality. So buy what you love and have faith that when you put it all together it will work - why? Because it will make you happy as it’s a collection of everything you love!

The best homes are the ones where you know exactly the sort of person that lives there just from seeing the interiors.

What is your go-to interior trick if you have one?

I am a Yorkshire man so if I am investing good money into something I say Google the death out of it.

Things like sofas, beds etc. I always look them up on eBay first for a bargain, but also if someone is selling the sofa you like and it’s 'used' you get an insight into how that sofa you’re going to buy will age.

If you had to change one thing in your home, what would it be and why?

I am quite fortunate that we are working around the house to get rid of those bits I hate, like the middle window, that is an eyesore. But the one thing I would love is a bigger bathroom - but hey that’s a first world problem to have haha!

What's your favourite home purchase you have made

recently and is there anything on your wishlist?

My favourite recent purchase is a vase I picked up in London the other week, and my new kitchen chandelier (I hope as I am still waiting for it to arrive).

My wishlist is endless so I try not to think about it, I am a shopaholic.

And finally what does the future hold for @jackdmarch?is there anything left up your sleeve?

Oh, there are a few more rooms to get an overhaul yet, that’s before I even think about seasonal styling. But I always say never say never to a new house, new project - what can I say, I get bored!
