London Design Festival 2018 Review

Cameron Design House x Geronimo

We were so excited for this Cameron Design House collab and it didn’t disappoint. Part of Shoreditch Design Triangle, the immersive light installation displayed the brand’s signature Helmi chandeliers nestled amongst a vast balloon sculpture designed by LA artist, Geronimo. The explosion of colour and creativity made it a truly unique experience, with the vibrant emerald balloons creating a feeling of fluidity and movement throughout the whole installation.

Multiply at the Victoria & Albert Museum

Designed by Waugh Thistleton Architects, this maze-like interactive installation was designed to be an exploration into the global issues of housing and climate change. The structure was built out of a re-usable panel system designed to challenge our perception of modular architecture – the result was an installation that made us think twice about how we use our space.

Skandium Eco Townhouse

If you’ve been following the latest trends, you’ll know that the minimalistic, white look of the Scandi interior has been eclipsed by the bold colours of the maximalist trend. Well, Skandium’s South Kensington Eco Townhouse saw the two trends meet in a colourful new take on the Scandinavian trend. With design implementation from Skagerak and Montana, the townhouse was populated with ethically produced, sustainably sourced products.

London Design Biennale

Devoted to the theme of ‘Emotional States’, this year’s London Design Biennale took over the whole of Somerset House to explore society’s biggest challenges. From meditative spaces, to 150 strands of fibre optics curated to celebrate Australia’s same-sex marriage legislation, Somerset House became an immersive and interactive hub of design.

The Conran Shop x Pinterest

For their collaboration with Pinterest, The Conran Shop’s flagship Chelsea store was filled with 1,600 red-topped ceramic Pins. With Pinterest Pincodes dotted all around the store, the digital and real worlds collided to create a personalised shopping journey for those browsing the store. When scanned, the Pincodes lead us to boards filled with more product info and inspo. The whole installation was a perfect integration between the two the companies and has totally transformed our approach to shopping.
